- Gardiner dirigiert nicht nur hellwach und spannungsvoll, sondern
hat auch ein vorzügliches Solistenensemble mit drei herausragenden
Protagonisten zur Seite. ... und Jonas Kaufmann als Ritter Hüon mit
unglaublich schönen pianissimi.
2 - Der Tenor Jonas Kaufmann - der übrigens eine wahrhaft
erstaunliche Entwicklung durchgemacht hat - meistert die schwierige
Partie des Hüon mit einer Bravour, bei der nicht eine bloß souveräne,
sondern auch und vor allem eine stimmlich höchst charakteristische,
unverwechselbare Darbietung im Vordergrund steht. Kaufmann wagt in
seiner mörderischen ersten Arie (“From boyhood triand“) Äußerstes - und
reüssiert damit aufs Vortrefflichste. Gäbe es doch mehr Sänger mit so
viel künstlerischer Persönlichkeit!
3 - In one of my favourite moments Kaufmann is in fine voice in
his romantic Aria, scene no. 5, From boyhood trained with strong, direct
and expressive singing and an appealing timbre to his voice.
4 - the German tenor Jonas Kaufmann has the heft and flexibility
for Huon’s heroic aria, and the delicacy for his prayer.
5 - while all the singers make their mark, above all Jonas
Kaufmann, both muscular and lyrically refined as Sir Huon of Bordeaux.
6 - En revanche, c'est un messire Huon de Bordeaux bien vivant
que campe le ténor Jonas Kaufmann, au timbre clair, puissant et assumant
les vocalises avec une belle vaillance. Il sait également alléger son
émission pour susurrer la partie centrale de son Aria (n°3), reprenant
un beau thème de l'ouverture, ou la Prière de l'acte II (n°12).

8 - Mit Hillevi Martinpelto und Jonas Kaufmann standen
jugendliche, gleichwohl durchschlagskräftige Stimmen und psychologisch
glaubwürdige Interpreten für Rezia und Hüon bereit.
9 - La distribution peu héroïque de ce CD est bien adaptée à
cette lecture. Huon est chanté par le ténor allemand Jonas Kaufmann, à
l’époque de l’enregistrement tout au début de sa carrière
internationale. Si, depuis 2002, le timbre a gagné en expansion, il
triomphe avec une facilité presque déconcertante des innombrables
difficultés de la partition. Ses graves sont bien timbrés, ses aigus
sont faciles et lumineux, ses vocalises sont précises et son art de la
voix mixte lui permet même de chanter un si aigu en pianissimo sans
s’enfuir dans le falsetto. N’était un médium par moments légèrement
engorgé, on pourrait parler d’une interprétation parfaite, égalée par le
seul Nicolai Gedda....Malgré ces quelques limites, le nouvel Oberon de
Philips/Universal fait partie des enregistrements les plus importants de
ces dernières années : parce qu’il est chanté en anglais, parce qu’il y
a Gardiner au pupitre et parce qu’il nous offre Jonas Kaufmann.
10 - Thus, Jonas Kaufmann’s Huon offers the ringing power,
baritonal color and open-throated commitment of the full-sized
heldentenor, yet he never gives the impression of singing “flat out,” at
top volume: there’s always the sense of more voice in reserve. The big
aria’s demands for flexibility — a stumbling block for many aspirants to
the role — pose him no problem: once past the opening arpeggios, where a
few notes are questionably tuned, he manages the coloratura accurately,
if not always comfortably, and with some dash in the longest run. In the
low range, he occasionally seems to be “taking it easy” by coming off
the support; and, while he respects the thoughtful, subdued character of
the Act II Preghiera, his attempt to rein the voice in turns it slightly
tremulous.
11 - La obra, muy bien servida por la dirección, la orquesta y el
coro, está algo deslucida por los solistas, correctos pero poco
brillantes, en una obra en la que grandes cantantes realmente pueden
lucirse. Destaca, por encima del nivel medio, el brillante tenor heroico
–como requiere el terrible papel de Huon de Bourdeaux- Jonas Kaufmann,
y, por debajo, la ínfima soprano Frances Bourne, en el breve pero
delicioso papel de Puck....Del presente registro, destacamos lo mejor:
al tenor Jonas Kaufmann, cantando su enrevesada aria de entrada, en el
acto I.
12 - Best is Jonas Kaufman’s Huon. The tenor is supposed to
possess the heft of a Tannhäuser while performing graceful flourishes in
the manner of Rossini’s Count Almaviva. Kaufman brings all the lyrical
sweetness and technical skill for that part of it, and can still produce
extra power and ring for the heroics.
13 - Jonas Kaufmann gestaltet den "reinen" fränkischen Ritter
Hüon mit jugendlichem Heldenglanz und besetzt überzeugend die Lücke
zwischen Florestan und Siegfried
14 - Innerhalb des ausgewogenen Sängerensembles trumpfen die
Protagonisten souverän auf, der in München ausgebildete Tenor Jonas
Kaufmann als Hüon nicht weniger als die finnische Sopranistin Hillevi
Martinpelto als Rezia.
15 - Auch die Sänger sind exzellent: Suggestive Fantasy!
16 - Un adecuado elenco encabezado por el ascendente Jonas
Kaufmann y Hillevi Martinpelto conforman esta notable lectura
equiparable a sus rivales en alemán de corte preferentemente más
wagneriano.
17 - Glanzvoller Mittelpunkt einer ansonsten ziemlich
mittelprächtigen Sänger-Crew: der junge Tenor Jonas Kaufmann,
Harnoncourts (auf DVD zu bewundernder) Züricher Florestan, ein
Sensibler, Intensiver, der die vertrackten Koloraturen der Partie mit
Schwung und spürbarem Vergnügen singt.
18 - Jonas Kaufmann als höhensicherer eleganter Huon.
19 - Jonas Kaufmann ist ein zartsinniger feinster
Piano-Schattierungen fähiger Hüon -Tenor von Rang, der im Bedarfsfall
auch erstaunlich heldische Farben aufbietet.
20 - .. und ein starkes Protagonistentrio (Hillevi Martinpelto,
Jonas Kaufmann, Steve Davislim) auch musikalisch höchst überzeugend
überzeugt.
21 - Und die Sänger singen taufrisch und energievoll wie die
Beherrscher der Geister persönlich: Steve Davislim als Oberon, Marina
Comparato als Fatima, William Dazeley als Sherasmin, erst recht aber
Jonas Kaufmann als Hüon von Bordeaux
22 - It would be hard to overestimate the importance of this
recording of Weber's final opera
23 - Domingo, Voigt und Co. vergisst man jedenfalls schnell beim
Anhören dieser stimmig besetzten und von einem wohltuend dezenten
Erzähler kommentierten Aufnahme. Und das sagt eigentlich genug. |
